My Evaluation on my video

I did like the editing it was a long prowess but I did it. The music I put in was a good choice because it fits in well with what I am trying to show my audience not so many people was not good it was only my dads friend and me but it looks OK he is doing the filming. The time I had to film was not a lot but I did it with only two people. All in all it was good fun I have always wanted to do a grand theft auto real like theme with the map and the money logo and all that but now that I have done it I do feel pleased with my self for making video. I would change the clips because I do think at it was a bit too tacky how it was shot but it still looks good. The audience did like it they loved the music and what I was trying to express on my video. All in all the audience did like it they side it was very funny seeing my on the TV.

My audience loved it they all rate id it to about 9 out of 10 something like that. Whey was taking about the concept> Ryan.e said How realistic games are new and what they can do to people. Peter Calnon said> I'd isn't a game. you only get one chance. So all in all they love id it and would watch it again

My diary of my exp video

One whole day I did my filming. My dad’s friend came over then was started to set up my scenes for my setup it did not take that long when I was done we got to work. I had to tell my dad’s friend how to work the camera and then when he knows what to do he got striate to it. When the 1st scenes were done we had to go out side. I was getting ready for the next sense when he did film it I looked at the tripod and it look wobbly so I got him to do it again and it looked better. When I got on to the car scene it was hard to do because we had no driver so I had to call my dad to come in to help my with the driving bit. So when he did some he got in his friends car and then we got on with the sense. When the filming was done I was very happy with it and it was cool that my dad and his friend came to help me.

My editing was a long process so I got started with converting my video and then putting it in the Mac computer then I was told that you can use final cut pro and so I was like “cool that will be good to use” but when I was using it. it was so hard to work on and I never have any problems with top programs like that. So I was like I am going to use I movie HD and yes it is to easy for my but I did use it anyway.

Chapter 3 Narrative and non-narrative structures (100 Words) Discuss the story line is it simple structure Begin, middle, end or is there a more co

Discuss the story line is it simple structure Begin, middle, end or is there a more complex or different structuring happening?

does a art film need to have a narrative (Story)?
It does not need to have a story because it is not as complex as a movie in a cinema. In the cinema you got a beginning, middle, end. beginning it will tell you who is in the movie, middle you start to see what is happening, end a good ending something good happened like man is a hero. But in a art video you only get i meaning because it is trying to express what the artist is trying to put across to you.

People do not like to stay around to long in an art gallery because there are too many distractions around in an art gallery. But in an cinema you got to site down in one place for a long time. in an are gallery when you get the meaning there is no point to staying around anymore.

A film that does have a narrative: doll face video shows a good narrative. a doll face comes out of a box and looks at a TV and sees a image of a real life human with maycope on and trays to copy the image but falls badly. What i am tray to get at is that the doll is trying to he human and trying to express her inner human.

A film that does not have a narrative: The film Koyaanisqatsi trays to give you a narrative but does not deliver because the film is filled with lots of different images and it does not make sanes to any body who is watching the movie. It gives to mach detail about the world but has no voice or actors.

Chapter 2 The use of technology and techniques and styles (100 Words)

So there is a lot of stuff different about the three video. Girl chewing gum was made in 1976 and it was in black and white. It had a voice over on the video. the camera stead in one place. so it did have a very old feel to it. Doll face made in 2006 it had a lot of colour and some good effects. the camera was moving sometimes to give off a good effect and it was very futuristic.
GTA mad in 2009. It was very colour full also it had edited effect logos on the side of the video and muzzle flash for a good effect. The camera is always following the main character.

Chapter 1 video reviews

The Girl Chewing Gum (1976) Director: John SmithIt is old, black and white video also very dull and boring but it was when the voice over Director what made it a bit funnier when he tallied an old man to cross the road and all most died.

Doll Face (2006) artist Andy Huang'sso one of the videos I looked at in class was Doll face.Doll face was very cool it had a lot of special effects in it and did have lots of colour to make the video more interesting for the reader. The video was a bit crazy it had a box with a robot in it. The robot had a woman's face the face was very dull it was all white. There was a old school TV that was going throw all the Channel’s on the TV. when the TV shopped going throw the Channel's it would come up with a face of a woman with a bit of makeup on and the doll would try to be like that image and put makeup on. so when the doll did finish doing her makeup the TV would move back a bit and then stop on another image of a woman with more makeup but the woman looks better. The TV goes farther away from the robot but the doll tries to get closer to the TV to see the image but gets to a shop and tries to get closer but her robot neck breaks and falls and hits the ground then slowly dies.

The latest video I have looked at was GTA real life video ( this is what I will be doing for my exp video) the movie has a lot of edited features in it like the clock, money, health, guns, map. so it is all about doing what the game does and making it your own.

6. Audience, and audience interpretation of the work (200 Words)

Was the reaction different within the group? Does this matter? Is it important that we all have one interpretation?
The work we looked at was the Table and Chairs by Robert Therrien. People had a lot of different emotions and feelings about the artwork. I did like it because it was a crazy piece as you dont see tables and chairs that big. It is OK for people to have different responses to an artwork because art is meant to mean a lot of things.

Therrien had lots of ideas based on how he makes a still life and turns it into something bigger. In the 1990's he wanted to make artwork a bit more unusual and different by using everyday items in a household and making the viewer think hard about what he is trying to do. I thought about a giant sitting down on a chair eating food.

chapter 5 My experimental video ideas

A man comes and sits down and turns on the TV and the xbox 360. He puts in a game called GTA IV. He starts to play the game but as he is playing the game something starts to happen. The TV and the lights around him start to flicker but the man does not take any notice and he carries on playing. Then the lights and the TV also the player start to flick???? He stands up but then he cannot move away. At that moment the whole room randomly starts to flash. When the flashing stopped the player's controller drops out from his hands onto the settee. The man is not in the room any more he is in the TV. He starts to go a bit crazy he does not know what is going on but you know he is in the GAME.....
I have been inspired by: video on youtube where the can is in third person view and the map on the left hand side also the time, health, money, actions. This is a link of the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWqWyRMkZA4

4. The use of exhibition space to create meaning

How does the exhibition space change the meaning of the work.
It makes the work mean something more special in its own way and also it gives it more meaning to what it is trying to say. When i was looking at the
Table and Chairs i was thinking about a giant siting down on the chair eating some food.
If the table and chairs was in a shop it would not mean anything to me it would be cool and random that's it.When i was in the gallery i looked at the table and chairs up claws i was trying to see how it was made and what the Arte's used to make it. If i was looking at it in a shop i would not go up to it there would be not pint to.
The artist:
Robert Therrien born 1947

Koyaanisqatsi

Director: Godfrey Reggio
Release Date:27 October 1983
Writers: Ron Fricke, Michael hoening

What i think the movie was about was that the director was tring to show you how the world has become so differnt in so many ways from when the world began.
You look at the world from what it was and then what it is now its amazing how human nature has transformand alog the years. Its so awesome how the world is so powerful and colorful in so many ways.
